1. Excessive drainage
If you find out that an hour after there is no water in the hole then the drainage condition of the soil is excessive.

3. Poor drainage
If you observed that there is some water still present at the bottom of the hole a few days after rain then the drainage condition of the soil is poor.

In this condition one or more aids you should be done for improving drainage condition. You should need double digging the topsoil in autumn. This action allows water to drain through. 4. Impeded drainage
If you remarked that there is a lot of water into the hole or partly filled the hole a few days later after rain then the drainage condition of the soil is impeded. In this condition, you can see the water has seeped in from the surrounding soil of the hole.
